The Stag is not currently up for sale but we have been exploring the idea of the community buying it, if it does become available. We have set up a community benefit society for this purpose.
Membership of the community benefit society is based on a minimum shareholding of £100. The membership will have democratic control of the society. Raising enough funds to purchase the pub will take more than £100 per person, so we’re asking those who can afford to, to invest money beyond the minimum shareholding.
We’re now looking for pledges from anyone interested in buying shares in the future.. This will help us be ready to move quickly if the Stag comes up for sale.
